Retatrutide trials are happening in places. Between 2025 and 2026 Eli Lilly is running a clinical program for Retatrutide. This program is called the TRIUMPH series. It includes related TRANSCEND trials. These trials are happening in over 35 countries across six continents. There are than 100 active recruiting sites and over 10,000 participants.
To be clear: Retatrutide is not available for purchase in any country. It will not be available until at 2027-2028 if everything goes well. The only way to get Retatrutide now is to join one of the Phase 3 trials.
Here are the TRIUMPH trials:
1. The TRIUMPH Trial Series. Five Core Studies
The TRIUMPH program includes five Phase 3 studies.
* TRIUMPH-1 is for people with obesity or overweight. It has around 2,600 people. Is recruiting.
* TRIUMPH-2 is for people with obesity and type 2 diabetes. It has around 1,500 people. Is recruiting.
* TRIUMPH-3 is for people with obesity and cardiovascular disease. It has 1,800 people. Is active but not recruiting.
* TRIUMPH-4 is for people with obesity and knee osteoarthritis. It has 405 people. Is active but not recruiting.
* TRIUMPH-Outcomes is for people with obesity and heart or kidney disease. The number of people is not known yet. It is recruiting.
2. Where are these trial sites?
The trials are happening in countries.
* In North America there are sites in the United States and Canada.
* In Latin America there are sites in Argentina, Brazil, Mexico and Puerto Rico.
* In Europe there are sites in the United Kingdom, Spain, Germany, France and many other countries.
* In Asia and Pacific there are sites in China, Japan, India, South Korea, Taiwan and Israel.
* In regions there are sites in Australia, New Zealand, Switzerland and Ukraine.
3. What do the trial statuses mean?
* Recruiting means the trial is looking for participants. You can apply now.
* Active not recruiting means the trial is ongoing. It is not looking for new participants. You can check back later.
* Not yet recruiting means the trial is not open yet. You can keep an eye on it.
4. Recent changes
There have been some changes to the trials.
* A new site opened in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
* The status of a site in Edinburgh UK changed to recruiting.
* A site in Las Vegas, NV USA stopped recruiting.
* A new site was announced in Monterrey, Mexico.
* A site in Seoul South Korea started recruiting.
* A site in Brisbane Australia was removed.
5. How to find a trial near you
You can follow these steps:
* Use the search tools, such as ClinicalTrials.gov or Lilly Trial Site.
* Understand the time commitment. The trials can last from 1.5 to 2.5 years. You will have to visit the clinic 18 to 24 times.
* Check the eligibility. You might be eligible if you have a BMI of 27-35 you are at 18 years old and you are willing to attend all visits.
6. What happens if you join a trial?
If you join a trial you will go through phases.
* Screening: you will have a history check, a physical exam, blood tests and an ECG.
* Treatment: you will get injections for 40 to 80 weeks.
* Follow-up: you will have safety monitoring for 4 weeks after the dose.
